The casting director was originally looking for another actress my manager used to represent. I was the only other Asian actress he had, so he actually ran over with my headshot and said, “Take a look!” I got the audition the same day, and I had to go in without any makeup on. I was in sweats and dirty sneakers, but it was an audition of a lifetime so nothing would have stopped me from getting there. When I showed up, everyone else was dressed up and looked so beautiful! But I went in, did the audition, and they invited me to come back.
