Heiress to the powerful Spelling-TV dynasty, Tori grew up around famous people, so it's little surprise that by the tender age of six, she decided she wanted some of that fame for herself. She spent much of the 1980s making appearances in TV movies of the week and popular series like the ones produced by her dad. Her star began to rise after she was cast in 90210, one of the most popular and longest running shows of the '90s.
Throughout the hit series' run, Tori Spelling endured critical attacks on her acting abilities, and rumors about her personal life. Things began to turn around following her appearances in a handful of films, including Sundance Festival hits like The House of Yes and Trick (1999). After a stab at live sketch comedy in the L.A. production of Maybe Baby, It's You, Tori is currently developing her own sitcom for NBC.
