As a child Mandy became known as the "National Anthem Girl" in her hometown for performing at several athletic events. At the age of 14 she was discovered by a Fed-Ex worker who happened to know someone at Sony. Mandy recorded a demo and shortly after that she signed a record deal with Sony 550 Music. Her first record titled So Real was released when she was 15 and she started touring with the boy band Backstreet Boys. Even though her record sales are not up there with that of Brittney Spears and Christina Aguilera, she has proved to be talented in both singing and acting.
