Profession: Actress
Started acting in parents' theatre company from the age of 10. At 14 became the youngest member of the National Youth Theatre. At 16 singled out by photographer David Bailey to be the face of the 80s. Posed nude for Playboy in an attempt to shake off her "English Rose" typcast and make her more appealing to the Hollywood casting directors. After she starred in the play Pinocchio in London's West End at the age of 10, her parents were so appalled at her precocious nature that they sent her to a convent school in Torquay, Devon. Her looks and acting style were once infamously described by Victor Lewis Smith, TV critic of the (London) "Evening Standard", as "rather like scoffing a whole packet of icing sugar: very sweet but rather nauseating after a while".
