Julia began her modeling career in January 1995, after being scouted by the president of Bordeaux Models, Nicole Bordeaux. Paul Marciano president and creative director of GUESS?, Inc. soon chose Julia to make her debut with GUESS? in an advertising campaign photographed by Matthew Rolston, one of Hollywood's top fashion and celebrity photographers. Not only did she appear in the prestigious GUESS? print campaign but she also appeared in a GUESS? television commercial called "Mambo" along with fellow models Alex Lundqvist, Rudy Deroy, William Lamarr, and Tony Coleman. Mixed with her cool Nordic beauty and ability to perform was just the image GUESS? was looking for. As an end result, Julia was given the break that millions of aspiring models can only dream about.
