In 1977 Playboy came to Austin looking for the 25th Anniversary Playmate. I tried out, and the next week I was in Beverly Hills doing my test shots to be in the magazine. What a thrill! Being picked up by a limo, flying to LA and driving to the Mansion -- well, let's just say I was on cloud nine. I met Hef that night and had dinner with him. Hef was and is fantastic. He is brilliant and a very loving person. I am so honored to know him. My Playboy shoot with photographer Ken Marcus and makeup artist Alison Reynolds was a blast. We shot for five months, and they let me be involved in a lot of the decisions. I picked out accessories for the backdrop and helped choose locations in Austin. We had so much fun on Lake Travis and staying at the best places -- anything went! We all became very close friends while shooting the 380 rolls of film. I still remain good friends with both of them.
