Profession: Actress
Most television vision viewers will remember Reuben as the attractive health care professional Jeanie Boulet who traumatically battled HIV/Aids in the NBC-TV hit series, ER,a role that garnered her multiple Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe nomination in a five-year run from 1994-99. She debuted in film, when she starred opposite Jean Claude Van Damme in "Time Cop" and Johnny Depp in John Badham's "Nick Of Time". And in between a slew of other television projects, The Young Riders, The Round Table, China Beach and, in 1993 three episodes of the Baltimiore-based "Homicide: Life on the Street", she later starred in the critically acclaimed off-Broadway production of Eve Ensler's "The Vagina Monologues". Then in 2000, Reuben extended her burgeoning career into contemporary music, by singing back up for four months on the North American leg of Tina Turner's "24/7"concert tour. Last year alone, the Canadian born actress/singer shuttled between co-starring in the Lions Gate/Life Time Television dramatic series, 1-800-MISSING (as a no-nonsense FBI agent), and atorrid 16-hour-a-day shooting schedule in Toronto, to record her CD in New York on every spare weekend she could muster. In addition, Reuben tacked on an Associate Producer credit on the show, and performed the series theme song, "This Dream Is Real", that was co-written (the lyrics) with veteran songwriter Andy Chase. The track also appears on her new CD.
