As a child Foxy always fantasized with her childhood friend Lil Kim about becoming famous in the rap world. Her big break came in 1994 when she won a talent contest and was invited to freestyle on a Brooklyn concert stage. At the concert Trackmasters let Foxy rap over one of LL Cool J's tracks, "I Shot Ya" and from that she earned her ticket to stardom. Next she was invited to freestyle on Jay Z's single, "Aint No Nigga" and soon was mentored by the well known rapper. By the time Foxy debut her first album she was already known in the rap world. A battle between record companies ensued, since many companies wanted to sign her on and at the end Def Jam was the lucky winner. In 1996 she released her album Ill NaNa which debuted on the number seven spot at the Billboard charts. The album featured other artists such as Blackstreet, Method Man and Kid Capri and sold more than 1.5 million copies. Foxy's career has been very much successful while she still holds on to her sexy and roughneck ways.
