Profession: Supermodel
Eve Salvail’s modeling career began in 1989, one year after she won the first prize for her photograph in Clin D’oeil magazine’s Become a Model contest. At the time the Giovanni agency was associated with Clin D’oeil. With her short brown hair, Eve projected an androgynous image, distinguishing her from most supermodels of the time. After representing France in The Latin Model Pageant, in Panama, she was recruited by Tokyo’s Chic Models agency, from whom she obtained numerous contracts.Following a five-month stay in Japan, Eve decided to give up her modeling career. While in Japan, she had a dragon tattooed on her shaved head. In the early 1990’s, while working as a waitress at the hip Montreal bar Foufounes Électriques, artistic director Dick Walsh convinced her to pose for Elle Québec. This re-ignited her modeling career. The Montage agency then sent her on a European campaign.
