Long, cool, tall-drink-of-firewater Ellen Barkin looks equally capable of kicking your ass and rocking your sexual world--at the same time! Ellen debuted onstage in Irish Coffee in 1980, and her theater work led to a role the following year on the soap opera Search for Tomorrow. Ellen broke into film as the neglected wife of a record-collecting freak who takes up an affair with Mickey Rourke in Barry Levinson's Diner (1982). She then played Robert Duvall's troubled daughter in Tender Mercies (1983). Fans fell in love with Ellen in the romantic thriller The Big Easy (1987), as she came across as neither big nor easy. Ellen is one of the most versatile actresses in Hollywood and even ambisexually took on TV's La Femme Nikita, Peta Wilson, for a hot, Sapphic showdown in Mercy (1999). But Ellen shows us she knows how to lead no matter who the love scene is with in Sea of Love (1989), when murder-suspect Ellen takes Al Pacino up against a wall and gives him his first reach-around since Cruising (1980)!
