Caroline started modelling after she won the Dakota-Elite Model Contest, on wich she had gotten the first place. Then, she moved from Belém, a little city in the beautiful state of Pará, in the northern of Brazil, to São Paulo. But she the couldn´t get any works, no one understood her exotic beauty(mixed of Portuguese, Negro and Indian). So she moved to New York, after 3 years in São Paulo. She was almost giving up her career when Tom Ford, designer of Gucci saw in her what he was looking for his new campaign. So Carol got her first campaign, for Gucci Spring-Summer 1999. That´s what it took to bring her to the top.
