In the summer of 2002 Avril hit big with her spunky debut song "Complicated", moving pop music into a different direction. When Avril came to the music industry she didn't seem concerned with the glamor of the pop world and her confidence allowed her star power to soar. Her rock ambitions were noticeable at the young age of two and by her early teenage years she was already writing songs and playing the guitar. Through church choir, local festivals and county fairs Avril was able to show her talents and lucky for her someone in the indusrty was listening. Arista Records main man Antonio Reid offered her a deal at the age of 16, that's when Avril's musical dreams came to reality. After being surronded by prime songwriters and producers, Avril was not impressed with their ideas. She had her own ideas and was sticking to them. Everything worked out for the young rising star and before she knew it, she was putting out hit songs.
