The year was 1994 in Manila, Philippines. Miss Italy was one of the favourites to win the crown.  It was true from the very beginning that this girl has what it takes to become a semifinalist. During the traditional Parade of Nations, Arianna was first in her batch, the ladies from the Mediterranean, the Middle East and Africa. With her very impressive 9.21 score in the preliminary Swimsuits, 9.02 in the preliminary Interview and a 9.25 in her Evening Gown, she ranked sixth in the preliminary competition and she was called sixth in the top 10, with an average of 9.159.  From the beginning, Angela Visser, Miss Universe 1989 and a commentator, was telling everyone to wait until you see her Evening Gown.
