When she was only 5 years old Ann and her mom migrated to the United States and settled in Chicago. By the age of 20, she was propeled by George Burns into the prominence of Las Vegas. Her stardom to fame started with the LIFE magazine cover. Between 1961 and 1969 she starred in movies such as "Bye Bye Birdie", "Pocketful of Miracles", "State Fair" and "Viva Las Vegas" with Elvis Presely. And before the sixties were over she had her fairytale marriage to Roger Smith. She was a truly definded actress with Academy Award nominations for some of her work. Her career almost came to an end, when she fell of a stage while perfoming. After her comeback from her life threating fall, Ann was putting out some of her best performances ever. She drew crowds from all over the world. Her career slowly came to a halt when her husbnd was stricken with Myasthenia. Even though her career slowed down, she still managed to display her best performances in the few movies she has appeared on. Her latest classics were "Grumpy Old men" and "Grumpier Old Men".
