Since she was a young girl Ana showed nuch interest for music. She would love to accompany her sister Viviana everywhere whe went, and now her sister is her manager. Ana received a lot of support from her family and this made it possible for her to move forward in the right direction. After winning a beauty pageant in her hometown in 1993 she began to feel a little discouraged because nothing was becoming of her singing career. But in 1993 she was named "Embajadora de la cancion Ranchera" and also won "Rostro del Heraldo". In 1994 she signed a contract with Fonovisa and they launched her first self titled album: Ana Barbara. Since then she has become very successful and continues to release hit songs.
