Profession: Centerfold
The magazine thought she was 22 and single, but actually the 24-year-old strawberry blonde with sparkling blue eyes had been married since she was seventeen and was the mother of two (she figured the invented bio would please the Playboy editors, who would want her a little younger and a little less married). Allison quickly became one of the decade's most popular photographic subjects, both in and out of Playboy pages. She was Miss October in '65 (for which she was paid $1500), then she graced the cover of the magazine's December '65 and May '66 issues. The latter was the one that featured her as the Playmate of the Year. When she was named PMOTY, the magazine showered her with $5,000, a new Dodge Charger painted "Playmate Pink," and $10,000 more in gifts that included a pink Yamaha motorcycle, a pink Schwinn bicycle, a pink wardrobe, pink luggage, pink champagne, sunglasses, a collection of bathing suits, a tennis racquet, water skis, snow skis, ski outfits, a portable typewriter, a bongo board, a skeet rifle and shooting outfit, jewelry, a tape recorder, artist supplies, perfume, a year's supply of suntan lotion from Sea & Ski, and flying lessons, which she used to get her pilot's license. In '66 and '67 Allison traveled extensively to promote Playboy. She also continued to appear in the magazine, and in fact she's been in dozens of Playboy publications over the last thirty years.
