She wouldn't resume her acting on screen again until 1990 and again that a Lynch production, with an episode of Twin Peaks. Shortly after though she began taking acting as a career choice than just something she could do. The following year she had a small role in the Mike Figgis art house film Liebestraum. By the time first half of the 90's had ended she had six feature films to her credit (including Mr. Holland's Opus - one of the few films that down played her looks rather than cater to them) and a recurring role on Cybill Shepard's sitcom aptly named Cybill. She had also been nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and Won a Special Jury Recognition Award at Sundance for her role in Fun.
